OUTLINE OF TYRES RECYCLING
The matter deal of disposal of motor vehicles tires. As you know, nowadays the tires of vehicles are so many to become a serious problem for the environment, because the time of disposal are very long ( from 100 to 200 years, depending of the way ) and because of the daily quantity of discarding.
The current Plan has the side effect of environmental protection (first is cleaning from the waste disposal), and the opportunity of a lucrative business because of different reconverting products to put on the market.
In the following you’ll find more information about the Plan.
The system disposes of bald used tyres or polymers from oil (synthetic rubber) in the following way:
The tyres, stockpiled on a loading area with anti fire systems, are loaded on a special trolley and put on the conveyer belt. This conveyer belt inserts the tyres in a airtight pyrolytic oven, operating without oxigen.
The oven, heated at appropriate temperature (about 500 °C), produces:
-
Diesel oil, used in power units to obtain electricity;
-
Syngas, used to heat the pyrolytic oven;
-
Carbon-black, used in the industries of rubber, paint and particularly in the industries of toner for printers;
-
Steel of high-quality, used in steel plant.
The diesel oil is piped into fuel tanks;
The syngas is taken from appropriate probes and compressed into special storage tanks outside;
The carbon black is put into storage tanks and then put into a sacks and sold to industry;
The steel is stockpiled and then sold to steel plants.
The smokes of power units and pyrolytic oven are piped into a scrubber that degrades them with a water process and exhales water vapours.
The wreckage (the pyrolysis produces only a little inert vitreous waste) is disposed in specially dumps.
The heat exchanger and the scrabber are cooled with a water system.
The whole process decomposes the tyres in their main components:
-
Diesel oil 40%
-
Steel 10%
-
Carbon black 40%
-
Syngas 10%
The process happens in the absence of oxygen and therefore without emission of dioxin. The oven, with small-sized, is planned to dispose about 2.400 tyres per days and produces 1 megawatt per hour. The fittings and fixtures occupy 500 square-metre and the external space is about 500 square-metre more for a total of 1000 squar- metre. This is the basic unit, but it is possible to realize two or more of this ovens or to built a bigger oven of 4 megawatt per hour. To manage the basic system it is necessary of two rotating shifts workers. The system can work 24 hours per day without any break. The approximate cost of one oven is about 500.000/600.000 Euro (182.000/218.000 KD) and the whole system could cost eventually about 1.000.000 Euro (364.000 KD).
This kind of invention is patented from Italian Patent Office and the inventor is available to participate with 20% at one joint venture society or to sell the patent under some conditions.
A market analysis, conducted in Italy, demonstrated that it is possible to make a profit of about 6.000/7.000 Euro (2200/2500 KD) per day with a basic unit.
